প্যাসেজ ন্যারেশন অর্থ হলো একটি লেখার মধ্যে উল্লিখিত বক্তৃতা বা সংলাপকে একভাবে পরিবর্তন করে অন্যভাবে প্রকাশ করা। এটি সাধারণত Direct Speech থেকে Indirect Speech বা Indirect Speech থেকে Direct Speech-এ পরিবর্তন করা হয়। ন্যারেশন পরিবর্তনের সময় কিছু নির্দিষ্ট নিয়ম অনুসরণ করতে হয়।

Direct Speech থেকে Indirect Speech:

1. Reporting Verb-এর পরিবর্তন:

Reporting Verb যেমন say, said ইত্যাদি হলে তা প্রয়োজনে tell, told ইত্যাদিতে পরিবর্তিত হয়।

Reporting Verb যদি ask, suggest, order, request ইত্যাদি হয়, তাহলে তা অপরিবর্তিত থাকে।

2. Tense-এর পরিবর্তন: Reporting Verb যদি Past Tense হয়, তাহলে Reported Speech-এর Tense পরিবর্তন করতে হবে:

Present Indefinite → Past Indefinite

Example: He said, "I play." → He said that he played.

Present Continuous → Past Continuous

Example: He said, "I am playing." → He said that he was playing.

Present Perfect → Past Perfect

Example: He said, "I have played." → He said that he had played.

Past Indefinite → Past Perfect

Example: He said, "I played." → He said that he had played.

Future → Would + Base Verb

Example: He said, "I will play." → He said that he would play.

3. Pronoun পরিবর্তন:

বক্তার প্রেক্ষিতে Pronoun পরিবর্তন করতে হবে।

Example: She said, "I am happy." → She said that she was happy.

4. Time ও Place-এর পরিবর্তন:

Now → Then

Today → That day

Yesterday → The previous day

Tomorrow → The next day

Here → There

5. Conjunction ব্যবহারের নিয়ম:

That: Assertive Sentence-এর ক্ষেত্রে।

If/Whether: Interrogative Sentence (Yes/No Question)-এর ক্ষেত্রে।

Wh-words: Wh-question-এর ক্ষেত্রে।

To-infinitive: Imperative Sentence-এর ক্ষেত্রে।

Indirect Speech থেকে Direct Speech:

1. Reporting Verb পরিবর্তন:

Said that → Said (বা প্রয়োজনে Tell, Asked, Ordered ইত্যাদি)।

2. Tense-এর পরিবর্তন:

Indirect Speech থেকে Direct Speech-এ Tense আবার পূর্বের অবস্থায় ফিরে যাবে।

3. Punctuation:

Direct Speech-এ সংলাপটি উদ্ধৃতি চিহ্ন (" ") এর মধ্যে রাখতে হবে।

1. Direct to Indirect:

Direct: He said, "I am reading a book now."

Indirect: He said that he was reading a book then.

2. Indirect to Direct:

Indirect: He said that he was reading a book then.

Direct: He said, "I am reading a book now."

এই নিয়মগুলো মনে রাখলে প্যাসেজ ন্যারেশন সঠিকভাবে পরিবর্তন করা সহজ হবে।
